In a sea of Chinese restaurants, Bright Pearl Seafood Restaurant shines.

Located in the historical "Hsin Kuang - Yellow Building", a landmark in the heart of China Town, Bright Pearl, the recipient of the City of Toronto's "Best of Toronto Central China Town" Award, has been serving some of this city's finest Chinese cuisine for over seven years. Don't just take our word for it, they have been featured on such television shows as Emeril Live, CNN's Travel Now, Hit the Spot, BBC's Travel on a Shoestring, Urban Manner and Yan Can Cook. All tout Bright Pearl as a dining experience not to be missed.

The huge multi-level space can seat over 450 and is reminiscent of the large dining rooms common both in main land China and Hong Kong. Decorated in classic Asian style, the restaurant features a variety of traditional colours and images all meant to symbolize joy, health and prosperity.

One of life's great pleasures is enjoying Dim Sum with friends and family, and nowhere does it better than Bright Pearl. As you sit at a large table the servers quietly glide through the buzzing crowd with their rolling steam carts. Each item a mystery until the lid is removed to reveal the dish beneath - steamed shrimp dumplings, BBQ pork buns, sticky rice in lotus leaf, spare ribs with black bean sauce - the list is almost endless with over 200 different items. Stick with your favourites or try something new each time you come.

In the evening, the steam carts are put away and guests can enjoy a classic sit-down dinner of delicious Chinese delicacies fit for an emperor. Some of their signature dishes include Peking duck, fresh lobster and sizzling prawns and scallops. To compliment your meal, they offer live music and dancing from Tuesday to Friday.

Bright Pearl really shines when it comes to their banquet facilities. The restaurant is ideally suited for private parties and corporate functions of any and all kinds. With the main dining room able to accommodate over 300 and the two private rooms able to seat 150, this is the perfect space for tour groups, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas parties, etc. to experience the best in Asian hospitality.

Whatever the occasion, Managing Director, Stephen Chan and his fantastic staff work to make your event special. "We do everything we can to please our guests," says Stephen."We'll customize a spectacular menu, arrange a wide variety of entertainment, supply audio-visual equipment and decorate the space."

Whether planning the most authentic and elaborate sit down banquet or a smaller and simpler buffet, the kitchen will prepare spectacular dishes that guests are sure to remember. Just imagine the "oohs" and "aahs" you'll hear as your guests are served such traditional Chinese celebration dishes as shark fin soup, BBQ suckling pig, and braised fresh lobster with ginger and onion.

In the past, Bright Pearl has hosted many wonderful events with many distinguished guests in attendance. Michael Harris, former Premier of Ontario; Mel Lastman, former Mayor of Toronto; Hazel McCallion, Mayor of Mississauga; Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada; and Zhou Xingbao, Consul General of the People's Republic of China, are just a few of their notable guests. Coming up this fall, they look forward to hosting Pierre Burton's fundraising event and the Thai Society's banquet honoring the 72nd Birthday of Queen Sirikit of Thailand.

"But you don't have to be a VIP to be treated like one," says Stephen, "Every event, every celebration, every guest is important to us."

There's an old Chinese proverb that says, "Enjoy yourself. It's later than you think." So, don't wait another moment to experience the culinary delights at Bright Pearl Seafood Restaurant.
